CLOCKS & CALENDARS
TOOLS OF MEASUREMENT
If God is omnipotent as they can do anything, omniscient as they know everything, and omnipresent as they are everywhere, then what is the one thing Humans have that God does not?
Humans have limits.
In that way we are greater than God. We need challenges to find enjoyment in life. Without limits what is the purpose of living? I often think of this notion and in many ways I truly believe it. As we use quantum computers to reach what was once considered infinite and create particle accelerators to examine the most absolute minute parts of our understood universe; the concept of the infinite that we used to throw into the hands of spirituality becomes tangible.
For now time is one of our ultimate limits and plays a role in almost all of our decisions.
we measure time in a multitude of ways. These are a few of the clocks and calendars i have made to do so.

Humans & The Infinte
I created this chart for a wall hung clock. This piece was made to display the parallel scales of the minute to infinite in both the scientific and spiritual tracks. It shows mortal limitation and absolute minutia, displayed in the center in reference to a zero coordinate. The arms extend out showing separate but mirrored paths of God and the Infinite and the vast expanse between which they are connected to the exact.

a nixie tube clock i built. The nixie tube works like a neon lamp. It consists of an evacuated glass tube to which a small amount of neon gas has been added.

Work in progress...
This is part of a diptych. There is a second clock i am working on now. This second piece will involve Goop.
I have always been a fan of the Gregorian calendar.
put a stick in the ground and each day mark the furthest point reached by its shadow with a stone. do this for 365 days and you will notice the shadow begins its cycle once again.
A 2019 calendar I made for my sister and our beautiful family dog. The pages made to mimic a children's cut-out dress up book (above). A 2019 calendar I made for my dear Mimi and her Maine Coon cat Molly. The two of the are huge Red Sox fans (below).
