VOLUNTEER WORK
I am incredibly humbled with the ongoing opportunity to work with TechTogether. I believe in the fundamental need for more diversity in the tech industry and all other spheres of employment, lifestyles, and communities. TechTogether provides an important role in the world of hackathons not only because they are the largest student run all female, femme and non-binary hackathon, but also because nearly 50% of all participants each year our first time hackers.

as mentor & judge coordinator for techtogether boston's first virtual hackathon i helped create the mentor page.
this is the first draft i made of the mentor page
This page allowed our hackers to search for the specific mentors by skill to make it as easy as possible to get the right help in a virtual setting. We ran a beta test using this page at TechTogether Boston 2020 Virtual. The test went well with a moderate usage rate gathering mostly positive feedback from our Hackers. We plan to expand on this idea in the future with further usability. The addition of a more official ticketing system the could be opened directly from Mentor Profiles as well as better connectivity between the Mentor Page and our Discord server.
