MIS·CEL·LA·NE·OUS

2D FOR FUN
Before you lies a thoroughly curated selection of 2D work that does not fit cleanly in any subcategory page. Each of these pieces offers its own vignette, opening a window into another time or place. I give a brief description of each, but more often than not our art lives through the descriptions others give us.

Family Portrait 2020

Wizard of Oz Anime

[Dorothy finds the Tin Man in the forest and squirts oil onto his arm and it suddenly loosens and falls.]

Dorothy: Did that hurt?

Tin Man: No, it feels wonderful! I've held that axe up for ages.

Dorothy: How did you ever get like this?

Tin Man: Well, about a year ago, I was chopping that tree, when suddenly it began to rain and I rusted solid. Been that way ever since.

Dorothy: Well you're perfect now!

Tin Man: Perfect? Bang on my chest if you think I'm perfect.

[Tap tap.]

Tin Man: It's empty. The tinsmith forgot to give me a heart.

Dorothy: No heart?

Tin Man: No heart. All hollow.

Places We've Lived

Places We've Lived

These are all addresses that my partner and I lived in between meeting each other in mid 2017 to when this piece was made in the end of 2019. They are all some distance in between so I created a map that harmonized all of the places we called home.

Autumn Equinox for Google

A Doodles 4 Google I drew for the Autumn Equinox.

There are two moments in the year when the Sun is exactly above the Equator and day and night are of equal length. The Autumn Equinox marks the start of Autumn. On this day we get 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of nightfall.

In pagan mythology, the equinox is called Mabon, or Second Harvest. It is a time to give thanks for the summer and to pay tribute to the coming darkness.

Gervasi Family Portrait

Gervasi Family Holiday Portrait

It's hard to get everyone in the family together in one place so I drew a portrait with all my family members, most importantly the pups.

I hope in the future to add to this family portrait as new members join us.
